i have been fishing in my local lake and i cant seem to catch any trout?

thе baits thаt i hаνе tried аrе rainbow ,red white аnd blue , peach ,аnd powereggs………саn anybody reccommend anything?

    First, I’d recommend worms and nightcrawlers. Powerbait and pickled eggs and all that stuff will catch trout, but simple worms are part of their natural diet and very effective at catching trout.

    However, I doubt that the bait is the problem — it’s probably how you’re fishing it. You’re probably fishing…

    - At an inappropriate time of day (when fish are not active).
    - In an inappropriate place on the lake (where no fish are holding/feeding).
    - At a depth where no fish are feeding.
    - With a rig that is not attractive to the fish, or one that they see too often to fall for.

    Of course, it could be a combination of these things, and if you are doing two things wrong, fixing just one won’t help much. There are lots of variables here that you’d have to supply for someone to tell you exactly how, when, and where to fish. We don’t know where you are, what kind of lake this is, how experienced you are, or what kind of fish they are (stocked or wild?).

    So, the best thing for you to do is ASK THE LOCALS. And by locals, I mean the guys who you see there often, catching fish, the ones who look like they fish a lot. Politely ask how to fish the lake — lots of anglers are more than willing to share what they know, especially at open, public fishing areas. Aim for the older dudes — they’ve been around longer and they’re inclined to help young turks cuz they remind them of grandchildren. Ask where the fish are, when to fish, and how to rig your bait. They might not give you every one of their tricks and secrets, but they’ll get you started. After a while you’ll learn some of your own tricks. Before long you’ll have the lake figured out. Within a summer or two, people will be tapping you on the shoulder and asking how you’re catching so many fish.

    Trout are a cold water fish, are you fishing in a warm lake? Bass and Catfish are your most likely catch.

    Yep ….. I recommend you fish in a lake that has trout…. Here’s a sure fire way to catch them…. and Yes it takes a boat… troll using ford fenders, with a worm at the end…. If you don’t catch any with this rig…there’s not trout in that lake….

    I have had great luck catching trout on minnows. If that is not allowed use the closest soft bait that resembles a fish.
