What can I do about red bumps on my skin?

or Heat Rash?

I went swimming in a pond a few days ago and as soon as I got out I was itchy all over my body.  For the last three days my skin is covered in red bumps.  It started the day after I swam in the pond. The red bumps don’t itch or hurt and they look a lot like pimples.

The pond was very clean looking and I could see through the water for five or six feet.  In fact I could see my feet while I was treading water.

Does anyone know what this is?  Is it a parasite that was in the water? Any suggestions on what I should do?

    If you went swimming in a pond, then this is very likey that you have some kind of irritation from the water. Some people call the bumps "Swimmer’s Itch". Just see a doctor or dermitologist and get some medication for them. Or cammomile lotion

    A dirty pond Perhaps you might take a trip to your dermatologist and have him/her check you out,At don’t hurt to be safe.

    heat rash! i get this after i’ve been in the sun for about 4-5 hours in the summer. its just because your skin isn’t used to that really hard sun so you sometimes get it in the middle of the summer. the first few days it might itch and then the itch will go away but the bumps will remain for another 2-3 days. try taking benadril (i don’t know how to spell that but its that pink pill) and it will make the itching go away. also, a cold wash rag will help. just try to keep out of the sun and if you need to go out, don’t put on sunscreen it will block the bumps and make them last longer. just wear long sleeves. if it doesn’t go away in about 5 days and you are still nervous about them, you could go to the dermatoligist. i hope you feel better

    It could be prickly heat, but that usually comes and goes. If the water you swam in was dirty, you might either be reacting to some chemical in it (not good!), or have gotten an infection from bacteria or a reaction to algae. Not to scare you, but since it COULD be septicemia (a blood infection), I’d go to the ER right away!

    Some other things it could be are: a fungal infection, like baby rash, from sitting in a wet suit. Or it could be shingles, but I doubt it, since you got it so quickly after swimming.
