what is the best way to tell what kind of fish are in a lake/pond/river.?

BESIDES FISHING AND SEEING WHAT YOU CATCH hοw еlѕе саn уου tеll whаt іn thеrе. I hаνе a pond out back whеrе I live аnd want tο fish іt bυt I don’t want tο waste mу time fishing fοr thе wrοng stuff. іѕ thеrе a way i саn tеll bу thе : water, structures іn thе lake, birds οr οthеr animals thаt come tο thе lake, ect.

    Nearly all ponds are stocked with Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, and occasionally Crappie. I know you said "besides fishing for them" but that really is the only true way of finding out, other than asking the owner of course.

    If you want to fish but don’t know what type of fish you have, just use a night crawler on a small hook. You will quickly find that almost any fish will go for a worm.

    Check the website of your state’s department of natural resources (DNR). They probably have information available for public waters.
