If I put leeches in neighbors koi pond is it illegal?

My neighbor is always promoting different local political candidates that offend me and he puts their signs up so I have to look at them all the time. He has a that his kids are always playing and it occurred to me that I could give them a  surprise.  On my trip to the lake last weekend I picked up some leeches.  Is it illegal to add them to my neighbors pond?

    Uh, duh. Yes. That is vandalism and trespassing. Not to mention assault.

    Yes. you’re endangering children for gods sakes! Its vandalism, trespassing, and if I was there I’d call the cops on you! You could kill the koi as well, which is animal abuse because you’re doing it intentionally.

    If you are saying you are up for the school board election, you will lose the election if this happens.

    If you merely are supporting a different candidate than him, you are being childish.

    Besides trespassing you could be charged with other things, endangering a child, animal abuse, and possibly much worse.

    Yes, trespass to land, trespass to chattel, and conversion if you killed the fish. Not to mention the leeches are a nuisance.

    On top of that, there’s probably some criminal claims that you could be charged with too because you would be maliciously destroying someone else’s property.

    Depending on the quality of the water, odds are the leeches will die. Leeches prefer stagnant water and koi prefer very clean pure well oxygenated water. So you will probably be breaking the law and risking prosecution for nothing.
