What is normal water reduction for a pond?

Normal pond water loss
Our backyard pond has a 500 gallon per hour pump feeding a waterfall. We used an EPDM pond liner, rocks, expandable foam and roofing cement, yet some water still gets outside. When the pump is run for twenty four hours the pond loses about two inches of water. What is normal water loss for a pond? Should I work on doing more to waterproof the edges of the pond?
