    Make sure that you have an R.C.B. fitted at the outlet from the mains ! ! !

    If you run the cables down through PVC conduit they shouldn’t pose any safety issues but make sure that you use only weather resistant fittings and power points etc.

    Well, outside lighting is a notifiable work ( in the UK ) since last year so you need to have it completed to part p regulations and signed off by the council..

    Thats the official answer.

    Personally i would mount a IP55 weatherproof RCD on an outside wall. run a steel wire armoured cable to the pond and a weatherproof junction box by the pond.

    We used an old hose pipe and thread the cable through it to make it weatherproof and run this into the shed where we have power

    go to an electrical store and get some connectors called barrier strip rated at 5 amp put the seperated wires in these and then go to your local satelite shop and get some self amalgamating tape and tightly wrap the connectors although the best way would be to isolate the supply in the fuse board

    The best thing for you to do is to go to your local home improvement store and ask for help.
    They will tell you what you need.
    You can bury some types of cable without the conduit. I prefer the consuit. Draw a diagram of how you will bury the cable and take measurements to know how much conduit to buy and make sure if you have any corners to turn that you buy the fittings cut all your pieces before hand thread your cable thru THEN cement the components together once you know it will all fit.
    It sounds hard but it really isn’t . I was 64 years old when I did it and a woman. Directions also come with the circuit outlet.
