Koi pond questions, please help?

I hаνе bееn interested іn getting a fοr a whіlе. If i gеt more information thаn mу parents wіll probably ѕау yes.
-Cаn thеу live іn аll sorts οf bесаυѕе іt gets pretty сοld, аnd pretty warm around mу house.
-Hοw much dοеѕ іt cost tο build аnd set up a pond?
-Hοw much dοеѕ іt cost tο keep іt running?
-Hοw much maintenance dοеѕ іt take?
-Iѕ іt easy tο find thе supplies (аnd )?

    Goldfish are cold water fish, therefore they can live underneath a thin sheet of ice during the winter. They’ll be fine during the winter, as they are in most places in Canada which gets very cold during wintertime.

    Man-made ponds cost a lot, because you’re going to be paying the construction people to dig a hole in the ground and make it into a pond. Depending on the size of a pond, it will cost quite a bit, plus the filter and all of the maintenance you’ll need to do on it. By the way, you’ll need a filter that works for ponds twice the size of yours as goldfish are massive waste contributors.

    It’s better not to let your water sit, so you could invest in a small waterfall and plenty of air pumps to circulate the water and oxygen around the tank, provided that you have live plants to provide it.

    Once the filter, plants, air pump, substrate, etc. has been set in place and the pond has been established (that is, cycled) then all you’ll need to do is perform weekly water changes of 25%. Purchase a large water siphon to do this.

    Once your pond is built, it’s easy to find large filters, substrate, live plants, fish food, etc. Koi are usually easy to find as well. Make sure you do not buy feeder fish, as they are infected with parasites most of the time and malnourished.

    Ok If you want a pond it is very hard to construct and you have to be highly skilled in doing construction (digging, make etc)

    When I made mine it cost around 5,000+ alone and that is when I built it myself and it still going up because you need meds for the pond every month.

    It cost around 100+ dollars a month with all the electricity bills and the meds like pond clairfier to help the beneficial bacteria grow and algae killer unless you have a UV bulb but I don’t like that cause it kill most beneficial bacteria.

    It take tons of maintenance like you would have to remove the debris even if you have a pond skimmer which would clean at the end of the week and If you had a small waterfall you would have to clean it A lot thats why i have a 100 gallon one.

    Yes it very easy to find the supplies, fish, and other stuff at your local pet store like Petsmart, petco, or your LFS (local fish store)

    When You build your pond its a huge responsibility to maintenance and sorta check the fish regularly to see if they are ill. Many things can go very wrong so i would not advise you to do this unless you highly skilled in construction and a huge fish expert.
