How can I tell Koi from Goldfish and their worth?

Which are ?  Which are ?

How can I tell which of my fish are Koi and which are goldfish?  Our pond came with the house we purchased recently.  The previous owner said two of the fish in the pond are Koi but I am having difficulty figuring out which ones.  My fish look like a lot of the fish I see online so how do I tell them apart? I’d also like to determine what the fish are worth.  The fish are great but we don’t have the time to properly care for them so we decided to fill in the pond.  I’d like to sell the fish for a fair price.  Even though people have offered to take them from me to use for bait, I do care for the fish so I am not willing to just give them away.

    The most significant difference between a goldfish and a koi is that koi do have barbel on both side of their mouth. It seem that koi have whiskers. Apart from this, a koi is larger than goldfish.

    There are many type of koi and there are also cross breed koi which are relatively tougher in term of survivability but cheaper in term of value. Only certified fish may court higher price as they are guaranteed.

    It is difficult to tell which species your koi is without looking at them. I’d suggest you to take the picture of your koi so any koi expert in Yahoo! Answer may offer their help.

    Koi get much bigger than goldfish and have barbels on the sides of the mouth

    Koi are carp. And carp have little whisker things on the sides of their mouth. Goldfish dont have them.

    Eh, if you dont care for the fish, just give them away.

    Well then just charge enough to make the people that want to use them as bait not even think about it. Depending on the size of the koi, they can go for quite a bit. A 12 inch koi… 30 bucks would be a bargain. 20-24 inches… My god. lmao. 100 bucks would be a bargain.

    Kois have whisker looking things on them and they get much bigger than goldfish. Goldfish can get as big as a foot or so, and kois, up to 2 feet. Goldfish and kois are pretty cheap as babies but get pricier as they get bigger. If you can’t care for them you should just give them away, they aren’t worth that much.

    identify the differences in their mouth shapes….the koi are puckering and occasionally have small barbels, the scales are also shaped differently
