How do I get rid of water irises in a koi pond? They are taking over the pond.?

Wе hаνе a small аnd thе аrе very difficult tο remove. Mу hubby hаѕ tried tο manually remove thеm, bυt thеу јυѕt keep growing back. Hе hаѕ tο bе very careful nοt tο tear thе аnd thіѕ hаѕ become quite a chore. Thеу аrе ѕο thick thаt іt takes a οf muscle tο dο thіѕ. Wе seem tο bе fighting a loosing battle.

    Are they growing on the liner? They shouldn’t be. Tear them out. You may need to enlist help for that. If the liner is butyl liner, I can’t imagine it tearing. If it’s plastic or PVC it could easily tear. When you get them out, pot up a few. Don’t let them leap out of the pot and take over again. That means you have to pull them out every year and divide them.
    If you have gravel on the bottom of your pond, pump out the pond, put the fish in a kiddy pond. Shovel out the gravel, pull out the irises and put the gravel anywhere but back in your pond.
