Will houseplant bog plant live in 20 gallon fish tank?

Can Japanese rush, lucky bamboo and dwarf parlor palm live submerge in a twenty gallon fish tank I have at home? Will they live longer underwater?  I am new to owning and maintaining an aquarium and I am trying to figure out what to put in the tank.

    No. Some terrestrial or bog plants will live for a little while fully-submerged, but they’ll eventually die, rot, and foul the water. I’ll never understand why "lucky bamboo" (actually a member of the dracanea family — not bamboo at all!) is sold as an aquatic plant. It’s not.

    If you’re having trouble finding aquatic plants locally, how about looking online? There are several reputable sources. The one I use (just one of several good sites out there) is http://www.liveaquaria.com/. They have reasonable prices and a decent selection.

    you should do some research before you put anything living in your tank…you know there are plastic and silk plants around and live plants tend to need high lighting,Co2 and fertilizer.and you would need plants that are ment to be underwater because those plants could be toxic to your fish.

    NO, you must only use aquatic plants, anything else will die easily (personal experience)
