How do I remove green planktonic algae from pond?

Remove planktonic

Our new pond in South Florida gets a lot of direct sunlight all day long. The pond is three hundred gallons, has a waterfall and we don’t have any plans to add fish.  There are a few plants surrounding it. Evaporation due to the warm weather and the waterfall is high enough that I have to add water two or three times a week.  The water turned green from .    I’ve been trying everything including Fountec and Clorox as well as daily skimming and brushing. So far I have not found anything that will kill this algae and clear up the water.

I’ve been reading about barley straw, Microbe Lift, and other products.  I am still confused and need help to figure out what to do.

    Main problem is sunlight as you say its hot in florida same here in oz. To make this a real retreat I would plant around the site with lush tropical plants and later ferns closer to waters edge{mist/splash from fall will create microclimate suitable} . Also being in full sun you need to cover the surface area with a minimum of a third with plants as well as oxygenating plants. If you look in nature clear streams and pools have shade. Barely straw is great product takes about 2 weeks to start working and lasts bout 6 mths. feel free 2 email with any q’s,

    wow, that looks really good, i would say try salt water, my mom told me about how people use salt water, instead of chlorine now, because it discourages algae, i don’t know exactly how much to use, maybe u could look it up.
