Remove planktonic pond algae
Our new pond in South Florida gets a lot of direct sunlight all day long. The pond is three hundred gallons, has a waterfall and we don’t have any plans to add fish. There are a few plants surrounding it. Evaporation due to the warm weather and the waterfall is high enough that I have to add water two or three times a week. The water turned green from planktonic algae. I’ve been trying everything including Fountec and Clorox as well as daily skimming and brushing. So far I have not found anything that will kill this algae and clear up the water.
I’ve been reading about barley straw, Microbe Lift, and other products. I am still confused and need help to figure out what to do.
