What can I do to keep algae out of my pond fountain?

How can I rid my fountain of ? The blue dye I used doesn’t work.  Can I use or is there something else I can do?

    You can also find a product at most home improvement centers that will keep the algae away for longer periods that just using bleach. I just put some in my bird bath today. It is safe for birds and fish.

    A little bleach should prevent algae. It won’t take much, a teaspoon per gallon, or a little less than that.

    As long as you don’t have fish in it I would say a little bleach wouldn’t hurt. If you have a friend with a pool you could also ask to have one of their chlorine tablets.

    If there is no fish in the water then use a bit of bleach.=)

    I put shock in mine,like you use in a swimming pool.Works great and for less then $5 you can buy a bag that will last for years
